Installation Services

The installation process of an elevator or escalator typically involves several key steps. The specific details of the process may vary depending on the type of elevator or escalator being installed and the building it will be installed in.

It’s important to note that the installation process is not a DIY task and must be done by professional and certified elevator technicians, it may also take a few weeks to several months depending on the complexity of the project.

Below we describe the high level steps usually taken when installing your escalator or lifts.

Installation Process

1. Site
Preparation

Before the elevator or escalator can be installed, the site must be prepared. This may involve making sure that the building's electrical and mechanical systems are up to code, and that there is enough space for the elevator or escalator to be installed.

2. Foundation
Work

A foundation will be poured for the elevator or escalator equipment to sit on, this foundation will be designed to support the weight of the equipment and the load it will carry.

3.Equipment Delivery

Once the site is prepared, the elevator or escalator equipment will be delivered to the site. This typically includes the elevator or escalator car, the hoistway or escalator structure, the controller and other electrical components.

4. Equipment Assembly

Once the equipment is delivered, it will be assembled on site. This typically includes installing the elevator or escalator car, hoistway or escalator structure, controller and other electrical components, and ensuring that everything is properly connected and calibrated.

5. Final Inspection and Testing

Before the elevator or escalator can be put into service, it must pass a final inspection and testing. This typically includes a load test, a safety test and a functionality test, to ensure that everything is working properly and that the elevator or escalator meets all relevant safety standards.

6.Commissioning

Once the final inspection and testing are completed, the elevator or escalator will be commissioned and put into service. This typically involves training the building's staff on how to use and maintain the elevator or escalator, and providing ongoing maintenance and support.
